The Lama Temple, or Yonghe Temple as it is actually called, is a monastery of Tibetan Buddhism and one of the typical stops in any visit to Beijing.
Once an imperial residence, it is now a great sample of Chinese architecture with many halls and courtyards.
It is an active temple and you can see people praying, lighting incense and doing typical Buddhist rituals.
It doesn’t take more than 40 minutes to visit.
